Kabarjournalist.com – JAKARTA – Throughout the period of January to June 2024, the Directorate General of Immigration recorded the arrival of 5,086,765 foreign nationals. This figure represents a 7.28% increase compared to the same period in 2023, where 4,741,343 foreigners entered Indonesia.
Of all the foreign nationals entering Indonesia in the first semester of 2024, 68% or 3,470,954 people used visa on arrival (VoA) and visit visas. Soekarno Hatta International Airport – Banten, Ngurah Rai International Airport – Bali, and Yogyakarta International Airport – DIY were the three airports with the highest number of foreign arrivals. Meanwhile, the three international ports with the largest volume of crossings are located in the Riau Islands Province, Batam Center Ferry Terminal, Citra Tritunas Batam Port, and Tanjung Balai Karimun Port.
“I think this is good progress. We are getting better and so are my expectations for the next period. The digitalization of services that we have implemented is quite effective with online visa applications through evisa.imigrasi.go.id where users are connected to autogates at major airports,” explained the Director General of Immigration, Silmy Karim on Monday (15/07/2024).
Silmy also explained that this is an implementation of the function of facilitating community welfare development to support the ease of doing business ecosystem in the field of immigration permits. Visa services are a pioneer in public services in Indonesia in facilitating the payment of state revenues online directly from abroad using credit cards.
